Wordpress– This is the free platform that I (and most bloggers) use for my site. When I write a new post, add pictures, edit my header image, etc., I do it through WordPress. The platform is straight-forward and easy to figure it, which is a HUGE plus for me.
The Thesis Theme for WordPress– Another indispensable tool for running Pass the Challah is the Thesis Theme from DIY Themes. Instead of attempting to code my own website design or hiring an expensive website designer, I purchased the Thesis Theme to take care of all this for me. I can customize what I want while leaving the heavy lifting to the coding experts. Thank goodness.
Canon Rebel SL1– I just purchased my camera during Black Friday this year and am beyond excited about it! I had been using my sister’s camera up until now (a Canon T1i), so it feels so great to finally invest in my own equipment. And I am really liking the improvement in my photos as I continue to learn more and more about the difficult form of art that is food photography.
Canon 50mm f/1.8 Lens– Besides investing in a camera for food photography, I also invested in a prime lens. As opposed to the lenses that typically come with DSLR cameras, this lens is perfectly suited for those up close, dramatic, drool-worthy shots. It is also a bargain compared to many other lenses of its caliber.
